The Kerala police on Friday arrested a man who allegedly spread false propaganda on social media that a lockdown would be declared in the country for three weeks to tamper with electronic voting machines (EVMs). The State Police Media Cell in a statement said that the arrested man, MV Sharafuddin, hails from Malappuram district of the state. The man had allegedly shared on social media a screenshot of a news story published during the Covid-19 lockdown as part of his propaganda, police said. This was discovered during a social media patrol conducted by the Kochi Cyberdome branch of Kerala police, the statement said. A local court has directed to preserve CCTV camera footage on a plea filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, seeking the removal of a Delhi Police officer deployed for security in the court for alleged misconduct. "Application has been filed on behalf of the accused (Kejriwal) stating that the security staff/in-charge responsible for bringing him for production before the court, namely ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) AK Singh, is unnecessarily harsh and mishandled the people around the courtroom," Special Judge Kaveri Baweja noted. The application was filed by Kejriwal on Friday, along with his submissions opposing the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) plea for his custody. The court, however, remanded him in ED custody till March 28 in the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. An 81-year-old woman in Brazil died after undergoing surgery to remove a 56-year-old foetus from her abdomen, Metro reported. The woman, identified as Daniela Vera, unknowingly had an ectopic pregnancy when she was younger and complained to doctors numerous times about pain and a bulge in her belly. She had been feeling unwell with stomach discomforts for several weeks before her doctor's appointment. Sadly, the doctors didn't spot the calcified baby inside her during the first appointment. Instead, they treated her for a water infection, before sending her to another hospital to get 3D scans.  Despite having seven children, Ms Vera's condition went unnoticed until she received the 3D scans. This revealed lithopedion, a rare condition that happens when a baby dies during pregnancy and isn't absorbed by the body, Metro reported.  The 81-year-old then went into surgery, following which she was moved into the intensive care unit (ICU). A family court in Indore in Madhya Pradesh has asked a woman to return to her husband's home with immediate effect while observing that wearing the ritualistic ' sindoor' (vermillion) was the duty of a (Hindu) woman as it demonstrates that she is married. Indore family court Principal Judge NP Singh's direction came while hearing a petition of a man seeking restoration of his rights under Hindu Marriage Act after his wife walked out of the marriage five years ago. In his order of March 1, the judge said, "When the statement of the woman was recorded in the court, she admitted she was not wearing 'sindoor' . 'Sindoor' is a religious duty of a wife and it shows that the woman is married." A 30-year-old man allegedly killed his wife using a sharp weapon on Monday after an argument over delay in serving him lunch and then died by suicide by hanging himself in his house in this district, police said. The incident took place in Kotwalanpurwa village of Thangaon police station area, they said. The wife have been identified as Prema Devi (28) and her husband Parasram, Thangaon police station SHO Hanumant Lal Tiwari said. The angry husband first attacked and killed his wife with a sharp weapon and then, fearing that he would have to go to jail, died by suicide by hanging himself inside the house, the SHO said. According to police, Parasram returned home after working in the fields on Monday afternoon and asked his wife for food. The lunch was not ready when Parasram reached home, police said.
